OMAGGIO A CINECITTÀ
L’arte fotografica conserva l’anima delle persone ritratte, come è stata capace di fare Elisabetta Catalano. Con lei la fotografia sostituisce le parole ed evoca ricordi. La sua capacità di fermare il momento attraverso lo scatto ci ha restituito un Fellini vero e umano. Abbiamo così deciso di dedicare una mostra, nel centenario dalla nascita del grande maestro, ad entrambi, perchè sia Elisabetta che Federico, con il loro intendersi, hanno costruito un dialogo denso e originale che meritava di essere mostrato al grande pubblico nello spazio del Teatro 1 di Cinecittà, habitat naturale dei cinematografi. Abbiamo deciso di inaugurare durante la pandemia, dovuta al Covid, per dare un segnale forte al mondo della cultura e le aspettative, per questa esposizione che ha narrato un periodo storico memorabile, non sono state tradite. La precedente programmazione degli impegni e degli spazi ha purtroppo impedito il prolungamento della mostra nei mesi in cui sarebbe stato consentito un agevole accesso ai visitatori. Affidiamo quindi a questo catalogo, voluto e curato dall’Archivio Catalano, la memoria del Ri-tratto Rosso di Elisabetta e Federico, la mostra del loro ritorno a Cinecittà ai tempi della pandemia.

CINECITTÀ’S TRIBUTE
Photographic art preserves the soul of the individuals portrayed, as Elisabetta Catalano was able to do. With her, photography replaces words and evokes memories. Her ability to stop the moment through the shot has given us back a real and human Fellini. We then decided to dedicate an exhibition, in the centenary of the birth of the great maestro, to both, because both Elisabetta and Federico, with their understanding of each other, have built a deep and original dialogue that deserved to be shown to the general public in the space of Teatro 1 in Cinecittà, the natural habitat of cinemas. We decided to inaugurate it during the pandemic, due to Covid, to give a strong sign to the world of culture and the expectations of it, for this exhibition that narrated a memorable historic period, were not betrayed.
The previous scheduling of commitments and spaces unfortunately prevented the extension of the exhibition during the months when easy access for visitors would have been allowed. We therefore entrust to this catalog, wanted and edited by Archivio Catalano, the memory of the Ri-tratto Rosso of Elisabetta and Federico, the exhibition of their return to Cinecittà at the time of the pandemic.
