Gallery of Modern Art, Bologna 2002

The first edition of the “Maretti Award” Young Italian Artists Show, established by the “Friends of the Gallery of Modern Art” in Bologna, has been inaugurated on Thursday 6 November at the Gallery of Modern Art in Bologna. young talents in the deepening of their artistic research, and by Maretti Editore, an important contemporary art publisher.

The exhibition collects the works of 22 artists that a committee invitations formed by Roberto Daolio, Silvia Grandi and Concetto Pozzati has identified among the most representative in the Italian art scene. In fact, all the languages of contemporary art are present with painting, installations, video, photography and performances.

The “Friends of the Gallery of Modern Art” Association has conceived the award of three purchase prizes that will enrich the collections of the Gallery of Modern Art. The jury for the awarding of prizes will be composed of Peter Weiermair, Director of GAM; Dede Auregli, responsible for the GAM Open Space; Francesco Amante, President of the “Amici della GAM” Association; Roberto Daolio, critic; Christian Maretti, publisher.
